Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Ads Sniper (“Ads Sniper”, “we”, “us”) is a browser extension for website, SEO, search-results and advertising research. This policy explains how the extension handles data, and how our website at adssniper.com handles data. It is written to meet the requirements of the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

2. What we do not collect

We want to be specific rather than vague, so here is the list. Ads Sniper does not collect, receive, store on our servers, or transmit to us or to any third party:

• Personally identifiable information: your name, email address, postal address, phone number or username.
• Authentication information: passwords, credentials, security tokens or authentication cookies.
• Financial or payment information.
• Health information.
• Your browsing history, the list of sites you visit, or a record of which pages you analysed.
• Personal communications such as emails, chats or messages.
• Form data you enter on any website.
• Persistent identifiers, device fingerprints or advertising identifiers.
• Location data.

The extension contains no analytics SDK, no crash-reporting SDK, no advertising SDK and no third-party tracking code of any kind.

3. What the extension accesses on your device

To do its job, Ads Sniper has to read the page you are looking at. It reads that content locally, in the moment, to produce the result it shows you. Nothing is uploaded.

3.1 Page content on the tab you are analysing. When you open the Ads Sniper panel or trigger an analysis, the extension reads the content of the active tab: the page URL, the HTML DOM, meta tags, heading structure, canonical and robots directives, structured data (JSON-LD and similar), image attributes, link targets, and publicly visible ad creative and search-result markup on pages you have opened yourself. This is used only to generate the audit, link report, ad research view or SERP analysis that is displayed back to you.

3.2 Settings and recent results. Your preferences (for example which modules you have enabled, display options and export settings) and, where applicable, the most recent analysis results, are saved in your browser’s local extension storage so the tool behaves consistently between sessions.

3.3 Files you export. When you export a CSV or markdown report, the file is generated in your browser and saved directly to your device by Chrome’s download mechanism. The file does not pass through us.

4. Where that data goes

It stays on your computer. All parsing, scoring, link validation and report generation happens locally in the extension’s own JavaScript context. Ads Sniper operates no backend service that receives analysed page data, and the extension has no code path that sends page content, URLs or usage data to us.

We disclose this local processing here because the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy requires extensions to describe how they handle user data even when that data never leaves the device.

5. Network requests the extension makes

Some features need to make requests over the network. When they do, those requests go from your browser directly to the site being examined, never to an Ads Sniper server:

• Link Checker requests the URLs found on the page you are auditing, in order to report their status codes, redirect chains and broken links. The request comes from your browser, exactly as if you had clicked the link.
• Ad and SERP research reads publicly available pages, such as Google Search results, the Google Ads Transparency Center and the Meta Ad Library, in the tab you have open.

These requests carry whatever your browser would normally send to those destinations. We do not observe, log or receive them. Any data those third-party sites collect is governed by their own privacy policies, not this one.

6. Permissions and why each one is needed

We request the narrowest set of permissions that the current features require.

We do not request permissions for features that do not exist yet. If a future version needs an additional permission, Chrome will ask you to approve it before the update takes effect.

7. Limited Use disclosure

Our use and transfer of information received from the extension’s permissions adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically:

• Any data accessed is used solely to provide the user-facing research features described on this page and in our Chrome Web Store listing.
• We do not transfer data to third parties, except where required by law.
• We do not use or transfer data for serving advertisements, including personalised, retargeted or interest-based advertising.
• We do not allow humans to read your data. Because the extension transmits nothing to us, there is no data for anyone at Ads Sniper to read.
• We do not sell user data, and we do not use it to build profiles or for market research.

8. Sharing and transfers

We do not sell, rent, trade or share user data with advertisers, data brokers, analytics providers or any other third party. There is no data to share. If Ads Sniper were ever involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, this policy would continue to apply to any data held, and users would be notified before any change in how data is handled.

9. Security

All connections made by the extension and by our website use HTTPS. Data created by the extension stays in the browser’s own protected extension storage, which is isolated from websites you visit and from other extensions. The extension is built on Chrome’s Manifest V3 platform, which restricts remotely hosted code: the extension runs only the code reviewed and published in the Chrome Web Store package.

10. Retention and deletion

We retain nothing, because we receive nothing. Data held locally by the extension stays on your device until you remove it. You can clear it at any time by:

• using the reset or clear option inside the extension’s settings, or
• removing Ads Sniper from chrome://extensions, which deletes its local storage.

11. Our website, adssniper.com

The website is separate from the extension and is handled like any ordinary website.

• Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (IP address, browser user agent, requested URL, timestamp) for security and reliability. [CONFIRM RETENTION PERIOD, e.g. 30 days]
• If you contact us or submit a form, we use the details you provide only to answer you.

Website analytics, if any, are never combined with data from the extension, because the extension sends us nothing that could be combined.

12. Your rights

Depending on where you live, data protection law such as the GDPR, the UK GDPR or the CCPA gives you rights to access, correct, delete, export or object to the processing of your personal data, and to complain to your local supervisory authority.

Because the extension does not send us personal data, in most cases there is nothing for us to retrieve or erase, and you already control the data held locally on your device. For anything relating to our website, such as an enquiry you sent us, write to admin@mtalgoco.com and we will respond within 30 days.

We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA.

13. Children

Ads Sniper is a professional research tool intended for adults. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

14. Changes to this policy

If we change how Ads Sniper handles data, we will update this page and change the “Last updated” date above. Material changes, particularly any that would introduce new data collection, will be announced in the extension itself and will require your consent before taking effect.
